How to Write Task-1 Tutorial for beginners.

Writing task 1 is very challenging for most of students, because it demands to write a report based on date given in chart, table, Bar graph and map. The English Hunt brings of Task 1 tutorial to help you be comfortable and confident while doing such writing tasks.

The chart below shows the total number of minutes (in billions) of telephone calls in the UK.
Divided into three categories, from 1995-2002.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features. And make comparisons where relevant

Time-20 minutes



Let’s begin-
The bar graph demonstrates the whole amount of telephone calls were made from 1995 to 2002, split in 3 groups. It is quite clear that local calls were very popular among the citizens of UK.
Tip-1, Read this question statement well, don’t use the same words used in questions, Try to use most relevant synonyms and terms. You can above match the answer and question statement words.

Overall, the all three groups showed upward trend in the 7 years of time span and local calls remained on the top. National and international calls and use of mobile calls seemed to gain momentum after 1999.

Tip-2, Give an Overview. What is an overview, Why is it so important? An overview is very important to give overall ideas of the task. It is very important because the reader gets insightful information in short.

In detail, mobile calls were least used in comparison  to national and international calls ( about 40 billions) and local calls (70 billion. ) in the years of 2000, 2001 and 2002 it showed upward surge and rose to 40 billion. National and international calls showed growth of 50% in seven years. It reached 60 billion.  Local calls started from 60 billion and kissed to 90 billion. It experienced a slight decrease after 1999. On the other hand use of mobile calls and national and international calls went up after 1999.

 Tip-3, in body you can give relevant detail and compare the information to make it easy to grasp. Try to read every word of the task and find the pattern how it is written.
