5 Top Tips for Poor and Average Students to Score 7+ band In IELTS Speaking Module


A majority of students does not successfully achieve desired bands in IELTS speaking module. This module seems to frighten students especially with poor communication skills most of the time. After conducting a study through students it is concluded that a poor student can obtain 7+ band this module if he follows these simple tips. I have personally interviewed advanced and weak students to get best ideas, tips and tricks to help them in better and easy way.





Structure of IELTS Speaking Mock Test

International English Language Testing system (IELTS) has 3 parts:-

Time 10-15 minutes 

1. Introduction and General questioning Session
2. 1-2 Speech on given topic . it is famously known as Cue Card
3. Discussion Topics most based on Cue Card and other relevant questions.

the students who are unable to secure acceptable score they lack some key factors that we are going to reveal through which would alert and guide you score high in your speaking  module.

the students who score low they commit a very common mistake. it is that they finish their interview within Ten minutes. it is sometimes very difficult for poor students to cover all 3 parts precisely. In order to get desired score the aspirant must speak up to 12 minutes at least. if he takes it up to 15 would be a great thing.

Tip 1.  Don't finish the interview within 10 minutes. it must last up to 12 minutes at least, Practice everyday to make it 15 minutes. 



Tip 2. Don't cut your answer short, Explain everything well.


it is expected that student explain every question in right manner. it is strongly advised that explain everything to the best of your knowledge. 
Try to add little relevantly extra information to your response. be more expressive.

Example-

Where do you live?
 the place where I live, falls in northern part of my country. it is small village surrounded by lush green agricultural land. Most of the people are occupied in farming there. the transport connectivity is very appreciable. we can easily get transport means there.

How do you spend your free time?
Well, I do a range of activities when i am free. I am fond of watching educational videos on YouTube. Sometimes i hang out with my friends, play out door games as well. it also depends on my mood what i really feel to do.


there are 2 questions explained above. Try to explain well, add extra but relevant information to make your response little long and explanatory.

Tip 3. Don't be predictable, Use variety of sentences and words


Many times students get too predictable to examiner it disinterests the interviewer or examiner. he gets what kind of sentences or words you are gonna use. here we advise you that don't repeat words and sentences.  Learn to say one thing in different ways so you can keep the interview interested in your talk.

Obtain, Achieve, Secure and Get, these words have some meanings. you can use them to say one thing.
I like playing cricket.
I am fond of watching cricket matches.
She is keen of improving her English communication skills.

Words and sentences given above reflect the variety. don't use words of sentences that you have already use twice or thrice.


Tip 4. Be fluent


Don't confuse fluency with speaking past or too slow.  Some people think that speaking fast is fluency. it goes over the head of listeners. Speaking fast would not let examiner understand what you are saying  and speaking slow may bore the examiner. Try to speak that you can not easily understood. Practice speaking at ease.

Tip 5. Use fillers. 


As well as, as far as, i must say that, As i have mentioned earlier, it is one of the, i would like to tell, Mostly etc. there are many expressions that you can use as fillers. this would keep the examiner captivated. fillers make your speech beautiful and worth to listen.

Don't hesitate, be calm and committed to give your best performance.

lastly We must say that A smiling face may do a wonder for you.
